Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is a valuable addition to your skills, especially when it comes to being prepared for disasters. Skills taught in CERT include general emergency preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, first aid, triage, and disaster psychology. These skills help both at home and in the workplace. Take some time this summer to help make Georgia Tech better prepared to handle emergencies.
The Georgia Tech Police Department Office of Emergency Preparedness will be hosting a CERT class consisting of 6 classroom sessions and a drill on the following Thursdays in June and July. Keep in mind that all classes and the drill must be attended. CERT training is free to attend. As part of training, you will receive a CERT bag with equipment to keep after the drill.
Check out the CERT Facebook page for pictures from previous drills!
Please reply to gtcert@police.gatech.edu if you would you would like to sign up for training or if you have any questions.
