The Georgia Department of Transportation has installed a new High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk Pedestrian Signal, or "HAWK", in front of the Alumni House on North Avenue. This unique traffic signal device is designed to provide pedestrians with a safe means of crossing a busy roadway without impeding the flow traffic. Pedestrian participation is essential for the successful operation of the new HAWK signal. Motorists should be aware of and obey the signals displayed by the HAWK device. Failure to do so may result in an expensive ticket, in addition to causing serious injury or death of a pedestrian crossing the roadway. Please review the flyer provided here for more information.
