Horsley and McCoy Team Places in Ideas 2 Serve Competition

Two IAC students headed the team that placed Second Runner Up in the 2012 Ideas 2 Serve competition held by the College of Management.

Travis Horsley, a Public Policy graduate student and alumnus, and Melissa McCoy, who earning a double-major in Economics and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and teammate Benjamin Cohen were recognized for their project titled Tubing Operations for Humanitarian Logistics. The goal of the project is to supply potable water to areas devastated by natural disasters. The team has received venture funding from the Chilean government, and will travel to Chile this spring to begin work on the funded project.
