Masters student, Ann Rogers, was invited to travel to Washington D.C. to participate in the 2012 HKS Design Fellowship, which brings together students, professionals, and stakeholders in a weekend charette. Ann's team project was selected out of three to be submitted to the AIA | DC Unbuilt Awards.
Ann's reflections on the expreience:
"It was an inconvenient-but-absolutely-worthwhile grueling three days of sketching, clicking, and talking. The talking was the best part, as many of the fellows were at the top of their local colleges, design-wise, and so had many and varied opinions on aesthetics, computation, working methods, urban design, and presentation style. It was like studio concentrate. And even though productivity went down the more sweets we consumed and the colder it got outside, in two days we put together a presentation on par with a polished schematic review."
