Natural Products Reveal Cancer Cell Dependencies and New Therapeutic Targets

School Colloquium

The lecture will describe our discovery that a collection of natural products that potently inhibit proliferation of cancer cells target the oxysterol-binding proteins OSBP and ORP4L. This provides the first evidence that cancer cell survival is highly dependent on oxysterol-binding proteins. It also reveals OSBP and ORP4L as new therapeutic targets to treat cancer.
