Project management is a dynamic discipline that requires continuous reinforcement through a blend of theory and practice. This workshop provides an opportunity to use the skills required by the project manager in a realistic case study to gain experience in planning and carrying out a full-scale information technology-based project under typical constraints.
About The Course
This workshop provides the opportunity to reinforce and build on the skills and knowledge acquired in previous training and experience by applying project management practices to an information technology project. Participants will produce major deliverables of the IT project management process to include the project charter, project plan, performance report, lessons-learned report and completion report.
Who Should Attend
This course is appropriate for individuals who are completing a course of study on project management or who desire to reinforce their understanding of project management processes based on the PMBOK. This program also will be of value to those seeking to apply project management techniques in an information technology environment. Project teams about to begin a systems integration project also will find this workshop useful.
Prerequisites
Completion of a formal course of study in the PMBOK- based project management process equivalent to the first six courses in the IT Project Management certificate program or equivalent information technology project management knowledge and experience.
