How can a chair fit all people?

At Drink in Design on Thursday, March 8, Kevin Shankwiler, Assistant Professor in the Georgia Tech School of Industrial Design, will present exciting advances in furniture design relating to customization and greater user inclusiveness. Kevin will discuss his and his students’ work at the GA Tech Digital Fabrication Lab where they undertake digital manipulations of seating devices.

Following the talk, Kevin’s team will showcase benchtop technologies for prototyping. Guests will be able to design and fabricate their own scale chair models, sized just right for Barbie, G.I. Joe or that favorite plush toy, right in the museum.

MODA is open late on Thursday evenings and we invite you to join us between 6pm and 8pm for our hip and happening Drink in Design events.

Just purchase a regular admission ticket and you’ll be treated to a drink!  Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and military, and $5 for students and children over 5. Members are free and drinks are complimentary.
