Virtual WorldsRobert L. Todd is a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA). He is currently Principal Investigator for the NSF BreakThru project on virtual worlds for STEM mentoring, the NSF SciTrain initiative to research online training for STEM teachers, and the U.S. Department of Education SciTrain U. project to research more effective STEM courses and laboratories for post-secondary education. He directs related research on the usability and accessibility of online resources and is an instructor for the College of Architecture and College of Computing as well as Georgia Tech's continuing education program.
Todd holds an MS degree in Information, Design, and Technology from Tech, as well as an MS degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Georgia State University. He is the Director of CATEA's Accessible Education and Information (AEI) Laboratory. He is the current and previous Principal Investigator for numerous federal and state funded research and dissemination projects on accessible and universal education, accessible and usable web resources, and assistive technologies.
The College of Architecture in partnership with the Georgia Tech Library and Archives hosts this monthly research series held on the last Thursday of each month during the academic year. In each Forum, a CoA faculty member, research scientist, student, or colleague talks about his/her research. The purpose of the series is to provide an informal forum for members of the Georgia Tech community to present their work, explore ideas, and identify opportunities for collaboration. The talks are free and open to the public, in the Architecture Library from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
