No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Inspired by TED talks, this Enterprise to Empower (En2Em) event follows the same format and is created following TED‘s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” en2emTalks will feature four high-profile social innovators who will give TED-style (18-minute) talks on their businesses and experiences. Screens of two TEDTalks videos will also be shown. It will be an exciting event of conversation and connections and is open to all Atlanta-area students and professionals. Intermission catering will be provided by Evos, healthy and environmentally sound fast food, featuring turkey and salmon burgers, baked fries and fruit smoothies. There will be give-aways throughout the day that are connected to social enterprises (TOM Shoes Giftcard, Plywood People Wallets, Solar Chargers, etc).
Register online and receive free membership to En2Em and a t-shirt. Students may have their registration fee reimbursed if they bring 3 used books for our Better World Books drive. Better World Books is an Atlanta-based social enterprise dedicated to improving childhood literacy all over the world.
Georgia Tech’s second annual Social Enterprise Career & Volunteer Fair, hosted by Enterprise to Empower, will convene both for-profit and nonprofit companies from the Atlanta area. The fair will follow the en2emTalks event.
Last year, 16 companies and over 200 students attended. Our goal is to expose students in all disciplines from engineering to business to opportunities to work for outstanding organizations with both innovative business models and impactful social missions.
Students who wish to attend should register online here. If you would like your resume shared with our participating companies and included in this year's En2Em Resume Book, please email it in PDF Form to career.fair@en2em.org.
There is an early-bird registration of midnight on Friday, March 2; after that, the registration fee will be raised from $5 to $10 and the number of books to reimbursed for this fee is raised from 3 to 5.
