Elementary Workshop: WeDos and Scratch

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The Institute for Computing Education (ICE) is offering a series of weekend computing workshops for 4th - 6th graders. Each workshop will be $25 per person. Each will have a maximum of 24 students. The workshop will take place in the College of Computing, room 345. The workshops run from 9:00am - 12:00pm or 1pm - 4pm. Gear Up and Down with a We-Do Theme Park! How do we use gears to vary the speed of objects we want to spin? Students will build Lego Models that employ motors and gears and discover how we can vary the speed and strength of rotating objects.
