There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Living Learning Communities at Georgia Tech are a growing avenue to enrich the lives of students. These communities are faculty-led on a specific topic of interest. Each community has between 30-50 students. Faculty choose a topic and then plan activities, speakers, and outings for the students throughout the year with the support and assistance of Georgia Tech Housing. The program has really created a wonderful environment for casual faculty/student interaction, learning for the sake of learning, and developing a community.
Currently there are eight ThinkBig programs:
1. International House (Dr. Kelly Comfort)
2. Humor and Innovation (Dr. Pete Ludovice)
3. Life in Art (Dr. Sonit Bofna)
4. Lego Robotics (Dr.Jeff Davis)
5. Outdoor Adventures (Dr. Rob Butera)
6. Techie Trekie (Dr. Ayanna Howard)
7. Vision 2020 (Dr. Colin Potts)
8. Women, Science and Technology (Dr. Carol Collatrella, Dr. Mary Frank Fox, and Dr. Mary Lynn Realff)
More information on these programs may be found on the ThinkBig website.
One of the most compelling benefits of the ThinkBig program is that participants have the opportunity to make real and meaningful connections with faculty members. These connections are nurtured through weekly coffee/social hours in residence hall lounges hosted by the ThinkBig faculty leaders and via the monthly outings and programs.
Students will have the opportunity to sign up for a ThinkBig Community when they apply for 2011-2012 housing in early spring. The programs available for Fall 2011/Spring 2012 will be announced later this fall. For more information, visit www.housing.gatech.edu and www.thinkbig.gatech.edu.
