On April 7, 2011, OMED Educational Services celebrated its 17th annual Tower Awards at the Georgia Aquarium. This year marked OMEDâs largest Tower Awards since its conception with more than 850 attendees including students, family, faculty, staff, corporate supporters and guests who celebrated the academic accomplishments of Georgia Tech students. We were very excited to honor our new Vice President for Institute Diversity Dr. Archie Ervin with a reception before the banquet. President Bud Peterson, Provost Rafael Bras and Vice Provost for Enrollment Services Paul Kohn were among the attendees to greet and mingle with faculty, staff and parents.
As Georgia Tech moves forward with new leadership and a new, comprehensive strategic plan, there is one thing that will remain constant: Georgia Techâs commitment to academic success. The Tower Awards stand as one unique example of this commitment. It represents the single greatest collection of talented Tech students to be assembled under one roof. At Georgia Tech, we believe that all students can be more than just successful, they can be great! Through this event, we honor the examples of what is possible when an institution values and promotes both excellence and inclusiveness by supporting all of its students.
While the night focused on the students, the celebration extended to the entire team of supporters. We invited faculty, staff, corporate representatives and families to share in the celebration. All have played a critical role in the achievement of these students and the OMED team thanks each of you for your continued support of our students.
