There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Two School of Biology graduate students, Andrey Kislyuk and Nicole Mazouchova, received awards at the recent Georgia Tech Research and Innovation Conference (GTRIC 2010). Nicole received a $5000 fellowship for her poster "Utilization of granular solidification during terrestrial locomotion of hatchling sea turtles" advised by Dan Goldman (Physics). Andrey received a $2000 travel grant for his poster "Unsupervised statistical clustering of environmental shotgun sequences" advised by Joshua Weitz (Biology). A total of 5 fellowships and 20 travel grants were awarded of the approximately 300 posters in the competition. Nicole's poster was based on work recently published in Biology Letters:
