Georgia Tech's American Medical Student Association chapter (advised by Dr. Brockett from the School of Biology) recently won the Paul R. Wright Award. This award is presented by National AMSA to a chapter exemplifying excellence in local activities, events, and leadership. This award comes with a cash prize which will be used to fund an upcoming conference, a local AMSA scholarship (application to be released soon), and an end of the year banquet.

This award is well-deserved. Recently, the Georgia Tech AMSA chapter created a mentorship program for entering freshmen and organized a medical mission trip to Peru, slated for spring break. In addition, on February 26th, GT AMSA will host its 5th annual pre-health conference. Approximately 50 graduate schools will be present at the conference. The conference will also feature a keynote address by Congressman Phil Gingrey. This conference is open to the entire campus. More on the conference can be found at: http://amsa.gatech.edu/conference/index.html
